➽ Chapter 7 Stream POV TW: Mentions of d3@th and dr0wning The moon was now dipping below the mountains, and a faint golden glow rose up from the horizon. I couldn't sleep, so I sat there, thinking. Why did I annoy Raven so much? Was I doing something wrong? I was just being reasonable. Smart. Why was that so wrong? I didn't understand at all. It was silent for a while, until I heard a splash, making my ears instinctively swivel around. I hopped to my paws and turned around, and what I saw made panic rise in my chest. Raven had fallen into the river in his sleep. I dashed forward before I knew what I was doing, and I dove into the river, feeling the water rush over me. It felt sharp and cold, and it took all I had to keep my tired eyes open. Even though my vision was blurred with water, I saw Raven slowly sinking. He had woken up, and was flailing his paws, trying to swim. I battled forward, my lungs burning with the effort of holding my breath. Once I was close enough to him, I grabbed his scruff, trying to pull him above the water. His weight was dragging me down, and I knew with a sinking feeling that I couldn't do it. My muscles ached, and my eyes started to close. Was this it? Would I d!e in a silly attempt to rescue Raven? Would he d!e? But that's when the strangest thing happened... (hehe cliffhanger lol)
