Back in the age of the Wild West, and deep in the southwest of the American Utah territory laid an Irish/German immigrant gold mining town by the name of "Shenanigan". It was a small town. So small, in fact, that everyone totally forgot about it, and it was never properly documented by any historians. The fact of the matter is, the only known experts on this town and its history are a couple of random kids bumming around on Scratch, one of which happens to be me. Don't ask how we know, we just do. There's a story, I recall, of an outlaw by the name of Chubasco Reeves that once visited this town. Some of my fellow Shenanigan history experts have referred to Chubasco by the name "Chu-bass Reeves", but that's both inaccurate, and sounds stupid as heck. Truth is, nobody knows the outlaw's real first name. It's possible his parents simply forgot to give him one. However, early in his life, Reeves was given the iconic nickname "El Chubasco" by a Menorcan community near St. Augustine, and it just kinda stuck. The town wasn't far from the city Reeves grew up in, and from which he had just departed on a mission to trek west and "make a name for [him]self", as he put it. He may have meant that literally, too, if we're going with the theory that he legitimately didn't have a first name prior to that point. "Chubasco" is a Spanish term for a violent thunderstorm that appears and disappears very suddenly. Reeves was dubbed such for clearing out an entire gang of bandits from that Menorcan town the same day he arrived and the same day he left. He spent the following years enacting his own idea of justice on a world he saw as no-good. There was another notorious outlaw that gave visit to the town of Shenanigan. His name was Wyatt Clinton, known to his friends as "Fox" for his resilience, cunning, and skill in hunting the animal. As a matter of fact, folks first started calling him "Fox" in reference to his ability to "outfox" the foxes he hunted. He travelled to California for the Gold Rush when he was young, though he didn't come out of it with nearly as much gold as he'd hoped for. Which is to say, no gold. This turned Fox bitter, and lead him to a life of crime. He even partnered with Chubasco Reeves once, but the two had a falling out. Long story short, Reeves took Fox's share of some money they'd stolen while he was sleeping, and later lost it all in a bad game of Slapjack. Afterwards, Fox took up a career in bounty hunting for many years, running into Chubasco on several occasions, the latter always managing to slip away at the last second. After a while, Fox got sick of life as an outlaw, and decided to move to the border of the Utah territory and clean up his act. He even became a man of the law; Wyatt Clinton: Sherriff of Crystal Peak. He sure liked the sound of that. Wyatt even started a nice little family with a spunky girl named Abigail. However, Reeves came wandering into Wyatt's town one day, and it ended about how you'd expect. Chabasco got away again, and Wyatt was left...well, he was angry, to say the least. A couple weeks after that whole debacle, Wyatt caught word from a friend of his that Chabasco Reeves had been seen milling about in the town of Shenanigan. Apparently he'd gotten pretty chummy with the folks living there. Wyatt figured Reeves was enacting some sort of scam to trick Shenanigan's people out of their gold, and so he set off for one last fight with his rival. Truth is, Reeves did intend, at first, to swindle the gold. What ol' Fox didn't know, though, was that Chubasco had a whole Lightning McQueen/RJ Raccoon-style found-family arc, and was a completely changed man that had realized the world wasn't all bad. However, the Lightning McQueen/RJ Raccoon-style found-family arc in question...is a story...for another time.... And if any of my fellow Shenanigan historians wanna tell some of those stories in their own projects, I stashed a bunch of Nintendo cowboy music inside this here project if you'd like to use it. So yeah. (I can take this down if you don't want it to be canon, by the way, Fox. I don't mind, this is just for fun.)
