/!\ Slight Flash Warning /!\ Please check out my DTA (entries needed): https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1257093192/ due to the sheer amount of code in this, please spam flag or watch on turbowarp! This took 2+ weeks help Some parts of this animation were left unfinished, due to the fact that I couldn't finish on time + this is just a contest entry. ----- + ----- "Atala? Hmph." - Azra, Gallery of Crimson "Atala is a talented rookie for the SSS. She is determined and willing- I look forward to the day when she becomes an official officer." - Serendipity, head of the SSS "She's quiet. Mostly. But when someone's in danger, she immediately spings into action. Also, it doesn't seem like she likes to eat..." - Yunfuka, Atala's classmate "She doesn't know my true identity. Better if she doesn't." - Thorniconia ----- + ----- Atala. A young rookie from the SSA (social security academy)- at the surface, she's quiet. Approachable. At the bottom of the iceberg, she's daring and maybe a little bit irrational. Found at the "edge between life and darkness", preserved in the slivers of time. She bears memories of the past that cannot be spoken. "The sky will fall. One day, the fire will descend from the sky and crush this reign." A prophecy, carved through space and time. She remembers. But doesn't know why. She knew in the semblance in her past life, she was an experiment. A "firebringer" meant to shine light on the multiverse. A weapon to be used. A way to fight back. The Primordials called her a war machine. A hybrid of humanity and Great Beast blood- she was one of the first "insertions", which were experiments made by the Primordials by forcing divine traits onto humans or other "lesser" beings. In this way, they would create a god. But they also angered the gods. "The sky will fall." The words of a mysterious prophet, presumed to be a last Great Beast, perfectly predicted the end. The sky fell, crushing the civilization. But the Primordials are long gone, and gods have stepped down from power. Atala couldn't care less of what her past was. She wasn't a war machine. She was a rookie at the SSA, and that was what she is going to become. During weekdays, she goes through training at the academy. During weekends, she works at the Gallery of Crimson for spare funds. But just like all "insertions", she lacks one "normal" trait- the trait of taste. She can't taste anything, and therefore cannot feel the joy of consuming food. Maybe that is one thing she should try to "fix". And today, she was going to meet Thorniconia. A young enthusiast she met while on a training mission at an automobile convention. The metropolis yawned above her head and stretched below her feet; a busy, urban atmosphere filling the air. Cars of all kinds zipped past her, and busy work-goers passed her shoulders. And there, parked in a lot, was a black Corvette. Today was going to be the best day ever. ----- + ----- Thank you for your patience- I didn't know that this project would take this long... but now that it's out, I'm glad to say ATs and DTs are open again!
