I wrote a short Warrior Cats story. I hope you like it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The sun dipped below the moor, casting long shadows across the camp as Ashstorm paced near the nursery. Inside, Waterkit let out a high-pitched squeak, batting at a stray piece of moss. “Keep your claws in, little one,” Leafdawn murmured, her golden fur glowing in the twilight as she gently nudged the kit back toward the nest. Nearby, Eaglepaw stood stiffly beside his mentor, Flamefoot. The ginger warrior was checking the apprentice’s crouch for the evening patrol. “Keep your tail lower, Eaglepaw,” Flamefoot instructed. “The wind will carry your scent, but your shadow will give you away first.” “I’m trying,” Eaglepaw grunted, his muscles tensing. The heavy gorse curtain at the camp entrance pushed aside as Dovestar emerged from the leader's den. Her pale gray pelt was silvered by the rising moon. The Clan fell silent, sensing the weight in her gaze. “The borders are quiet tonight,” Dovestar announced, her voice echoing off the Highledge. “Flamefoot, take Eaglepaw and Ashstorm to the riverbank. Leafdawn, stay with the kits. There is a chill in the air that smells of more than just leaf-fall.” Ashstorm nodded, his dark pelt blending into the gathering gloom. “We’ll keep them safe, Dovestar.” As the patrol slipped out into the night, Waterkit tumbled out of the nursery, staring wide-eyed at the stars. “Will I go out there soon?” he chirped. Leafdawn smiled softly, pulling him close. “Soon, Waterkit. But for now, the stars are watching over us all.”
