You said lore, and well I've never tried writing a story for a one armed shark man but I tried my hand at it (no pun intended!) Alright, long story: Tyler Adams. That's his name. Or was his name. When he was little, his life was ideal. His dad was able to provide for his family, his mom stayed home and homeschooled him. When he was finished with his work and chores, his family would walk on the beach and if his dad wasn't too tired he'd go surfing with his old man. Being young, Tyler never imagined this changing. As far as he was concerned, he loved his mom and dad, he was happy, they'd live by the beach forever, and he'd always have his mom and dad by his side. When he was six, he learned the hard way, life isn't steady or simple. Everything has to go eventually. And no matter what, life /will/ change. His dad was hit by a reckless driver. And he didn't make it. Tyler didn't get a chance to object as his mom now had to go find work wherever she could, and with no one to take care of him, he had to go join a public school. Though they had lived comfortably before, with his father gone, they he and his mother had to learn to get by without being picky with what they had. This was all a sudden change for Tyler. one day his dad is heading to work, with promises to go surfing, the next...he's gone. Tyler grew up, not just physically, but mentally. He had grieved, but he had learned to accept it. To this day, his father's death, though a sore spot for him, no longer is a subject that makes tears well into his eyes and his body shudder with a hollow empty feeling. He was able to adapt to public school, and even found his best friend. Shane. The two of them would go out and mostly get in trouble from their shenanigan's, from seeing if they could ride a rolling chair down a hill to coming home with half shaved heads after failing to use a razor (not they they were even supposed to find it). Though they mellowed out by middle school, they were still thick a thieves. Most often they're at Shane's beach house to go surfing. Something Tyler through it all never outgrew. Meanwhile his mom found a place looking for models and well Tyler honestly wasn't a bad looking fellow. Blonde hair, blue eyes, in shape, all really taking after his dad. Seeing the chance for a career for Tyler and the possibility of a stable future for her son if he did well, she convinced him to enter the modeling world. He wasn't really into it. Like at all. Still, he knew his mom was just trying to give him a hand and by this time he was entering high school and had no idea what to do with his future so he went along with it. Like his mother hoped, he did well, though as Tyler became a model and Shane became a life guard, Tyler found that if he continued this job he'd be stuck and honestly this was not his passion. He still remembered surfing with his dad and knew no matter what he wanted to at least be by the beach. The one thing that hadn't changed when everything else did. And so Tyler, against his mother's wishes, quit and went on to become a life guard. Though he still often gets teased by Shane about is modelling background. Tyler loved his job as a lifeguard, and there he honestly thrived. Though his boss at times thought he was an air head and people thought he was a stuck up mama's boy (which he wasn't) he took his job seriously, did well, worked hard and eventually found his life had come together. He moved out and lived by the beach, closer to his work, he had steady income. His mom, seeing this, relaxed a bit more, resting a bit easy now that her "baby" was living okay. However, Tyler had forgotten. Everything has to go. Life /will/ change. One day some kind of shark was sighted in the water. At least that was everyone's initial thoughts. The fin was unmistakable, but the size...no shark, was that big. No shark was jet black and covered in obsidian scales. The alarms went off, whistles blown, flags waved, people evacuated. That was until Tyler saw it. An older man trying to get to shore suddenly dragged down like a bobber suddenly being jerked into the water. The man surface, panicked and just barely staying afloat. But he was unable to swim. Tyler was first to see, the man had lost his legs. He wouldn't make it. Tyler was stupid, but his heart was in the right place as he took a jet ski and tried to snatch the man. As the man flailed, seeing Tyler, trying to reach for him, Tyler ready to to grab the man. Arm extended, the older man had a flash of relief, hope as Tyler grabbed him. Only a flash before Tyler saw a pit rising up towards them. This was no shark. It's mouth round with rows, upon row, upon rows of teeth. Tyler felt the water first. Cold and sudden as it flung upward at him. The the pain. His forearm was jerked upward with a flash of pure, electric agony only to be dragged down forcefully.
Story continued: He barely got the chance to hold his breath. The man. He was just holding his hand a few moments ago. Where...no...eaten in one bite. So he just went out there for nothing? Tyler never got a good look at it. Long almost serpentine in it's shape, but blending in quickly as it descended. Deeper and deeper. The water only got colder, heavier. he felt that water's once welcoming embrace had become like icy tendrils sliding with ease through his flesh to freeze his very core. Eventually he was released. Though he couldn't process it. His mind getting fogged as the last thing he saw was the surface. Light filtering through like fractured stars piercing the dark fog to grab him. Then darkness _____ When Tyler awoke, it was in his house. Sore, freezing, and dry. Uncomfortably so. His first reaction was to rub his eyes. Then he froze as felt it. Or rather froze for what he couldn't feel. His arm was gone. Cleanly so. But it was worse than that. Where once tan, smooth skin was, something grey and blue, much rougher was in it's place. He scrambled upward, having woken in his own bathroom, he slid on the titles but didn't relent as he hauled himself upward to see in the mirror what he had become. Something inhuman stared back at him. Shane came in, hearing commotion and after the two spent a session freaking out, Shane explained he found Tyler washed on the beach as he went looking for any trace of Tyler. He freaked at first, obviously-I mean we're talking about it being pitch black out, nothing but your flashlight and seeing a shark man unconscious on the beach. But thanks to Tyler's luck of it being Shane who found him, and his tattered clothes, Shane was able to put two and two together. He brought Tyler to his house (no easy feat since Tyler's weight seemed to have doubled) and treating his arm. The two idiots are now trying to figure out what to do. For now, Tyler tries to adjust to not only missing an arm but also having his entire body changed. One a handsome guy, great surfer, now reduced to some shark monstrosity and no longer able to do the thing he loves most. 1. The og design :D 2. Rough sketch for the comic 3. Line art 4.
