This is a part two to a writing I made based on Alan Becker's AvA and AvM. There's more of an explanation in Notes and Credits. I recommend going to the first bit, because your missing a lot of context. <><><> Cornel, who was struggling just as terribly when he finally made it to me, grabbed me and began to drag me out of the smoke. When we made it out of the smoke, we made a run for it, vaulting out of the figure’s sight. Despite me still choking on the smoke, once we made it to a safe enough region of this odd and unfamiliar landscape, I began to chant, rushing the words. I pulled out the wand and waved it until it began to draw an outline of light. When it was complete, Cornel and I stumbled through the portal, and I collapsed. I would survive, but without proper care, I wouldn’t be able to stay in the tab forever. I did not know my own fate, though I sensed there may be something more waiting for Yellow here. I continued coughing up the black smog. Cornel wasn’t so terribly affected. He set a hand on my back and he smiled timidly at me. “We do this together,” I finished the last part with him, “no matter what.” “I’d follow you to the ends of the earth. Why would I let that end when facing what might just have been the embodiment of death?” “You wouldn’t. That’s why-” I coughed, “-why I chose you to walk this road with me.” We just sat there, thinking through everything that had just happened. Thinking our thoughts in the peaceful silence of each other. Memories came to me of when it had all started… Memories when we embarked on this grand adventure to the PCs of the land that once lay above our reach. 'The prior quiet of that day when I said those first words…' '“One day, we are going to find a way up there. I know there are others just beyond our reach.”' '“Huh. Perhaps you are right. And… even if that is not the case, I’d still follow you to the ends of the earth.”' '“Why shouldn’t we at least find a way to start now?”' '“How?”' '“We won’t get anywhere if we don’t start anywhere.”'' Now we just stared at each other, for there was no real sky above us. Who needed that when there was a much better view of our future here. No matter how much longer this chapter of it may last. We’d always do this together. <><><> [YELLOW:] <December 24th, 2011> [YELLOW:] <December 24th, 2011> “Come on, Blue!” I said, looking down at my new little brother who struggled to escape my arms. “Sit still, would you?!” He only looked up with a defiant smile. Green, who was only about nine months old at this point, tugged for Mom’s attention. Mom, since a few months before, had seemed weaker than usual, though she tried to downplay it. Even still, I could tell something was wrong, but I didn’t want to worry my younger brothers too much. Mom spoke softly, playfully raising an eyebrow, “Green?” Green, in response, just took a fighting position with an eager smile. The tall, nimble figure kneeled in front of him, even still, she towered over the much younger and smaller figures, such as myself at the time. She extended a fist, smiling in return. Green “fought” her hand, seemingly proudly, until he finally attempted to scramble over top of her arm clinging to it, still a foot or two off the ground. She lowered her arm, so he could dismount the exhilarating “ride”. Mom stood once more leaving Green be, despite his wistful look. Blue finally finagled out of my own grasp, clumsily over to Green with an eagerness to fight. I followed as well. I was a little taller than Green, who was barely taller than Blue, to the point where it was near impossible to notice the difference. We all assumed our own somewhat absurd-looking fighting poses. Both Green and I were careful with our newer brother who caught on quickly to our habits of sparring. I quickly noted the stance of Green, my main competition, which suggested he might start with a kick, probably at me, for he also noticed where the real competition was for himself. A simpler one with little coordinated style or strategy. I was the only one who really experimented with different ways of doing things. Instead of a kick moving only forward, I sometimes tried going from the side. I shifted my gaze to Blue, who seemed as though he thought that he might just charge, again, in my direction. Still a little mad at me for trying to hold him… but I don’t want him to get himself hurt. But, that doesn’t matter at this point. Blue often took to just charging at one of us. That I quickly caught on to in the few days he has been with us. It is much simpler, to be fair, and requires less coordination, which is something we all lacked at this time. I decided I would first work to counter Green’s kick, forcing it to the side. With the right accuracy, I could use his momentum against him, perhaps even eliminating that part of the “competition”, as I’d phrased it a few times before. Perhaps… Unlikely, though not impossible…
All of this analyzation happened within a span of a few seconds, and now the preparation time has ended. A look in Green’s eyes signaled the match was to begin. Green, just as I had predicted, tried a kick. I tried to counter by grabbing his leg though I failed, the kinetic energy plentiful enough to send me to the floor. Blue had just barely managed to change the direction of his “charge” enough to ram into Green. I stood once more, eyeing Blue, as his force wasn’t quite enough to knock back Green. So my competition remains… Well, so do I. While the green figure was still in the game, Blue’s own attempt did something. But how to use it? I did let myself go long without deciding on something. Not like there was too much time to decide much of anything. I dashed forward, fists reared back and ready to strike. I tried to make an abrupt pause, but slid a little. No matter - it didn’t hinder my plan much. I managed to land a punch on Green, who didn’t quite counter it right. My other fist didn’t hit. I planned the trajectory, but that doesn’t mean you’ll follow through with it perfectly every time. Green recovered and swiftly gave a punch of his own, but I couldn’t react in time to move out of the way. It landed, and it landed hard. I toppled over, surrendering to the exhaustion that now weighed me down. Green turned his attention to Blue, approaching him. Blue dashed up to Green, attempting a kick, and while he lost his balance, falling backwards, the older one pretended to fall, defeated by the “powerful” blow. Green did some terrible death acting, with sound effects and all. Yeah… it wasn’t great, but it was pretty funny. Blue sat up from his position on the floor to inspect what had happened. “Huh?” He cocked his head to the side. Suddenly, his eyes went wide, as he leapt up from the ground at least a foot in the air and landed in front of where Green still lay. “Yes!” Dad approached and kneeled in front of us, so Green and I sat up curiously. “Come on kids… Go get ready to go to bed… Remember what tomorrow is, alright?” Dad spoke calmly, always quieter than Mom would. He stood and took a step back to let us do our things. I stood up, assisting Green as well. I tried to pick up Blue, who once again resisted me holding him, but I kept my grasp firm. “Come on. Let's get ready, alright, Blue?” I whispered to him, but he gave me a defiant expression. I gave Green a pleading look. Blue never listened to me. “Blue…” Green smiled at Blue, then shifted his gaze to me after Blue settled down. He rolled his eyes at me, playfully, but still… One day I have to best him in something! We all walked towards our rooms. <><><> It was later that same night, and everyone had gone to bed. Well, almost everyone. I heard speaking in our parents' room. It was hushed, but there was urgency in their voices. I walked down the darkened hall, past Blue and Green’s rooms, careful not to wake them. I heard Blue shift. I froze. All was still after that, so I kept going quietly. Soon, I made it to our parents’ room. The lights were all off, except for the dim lamp. I stayed out of sight for a brief moment, trying to hear what they were saying. “You know we did what we could… They have to stay…” I could tell it was Mom’s voice, though it had a tense sound to it. Dad’s voice was concerned but ever more quiet. “But you can’t… I need you to be okay…” “We won’t stay then. Yellow is responsible.” She paused, probably realizing what in the world she just said. “Enough. I think. I’m sure they will be fine. Besides, we know faintly of what is to come for them, binding them here, until it is time.” “Daffodil…” “Do not worry Cornel. All will be well given time. That I am sure of.” “Alright. I’d follow you to the ends of the earth, and I’ll follow you through this.” I moved slightly, somehow losing balance, stumbling into the dim light emanating from their room. I looked up, confused, trying to pretend as though I hadn’t been listening to their sullen conversation as they turned their eyes to me. “Mom?” I said, watching Mom. She seemed fragile. Too fragile. “Yellow…” Dad whispered softly. “Why don’t you come with me back to your room?” “Is- Mom.” I said stubbornly. “I’m fine. Don’t worry. I’ll see you in the morning, little one, alright? You had a long day today. You need rest. Tomorrow will be just as long. Fun, but long. Now rest.” <><><> This is something that I wrote, mostly for a friend. It's based off of Alan Becker's AvA and AvM universe and character, Red, Yellow, Blue, and Green, who have more unknown when it comes to their past or where they came from. Most people probably say that they just came from the tab, but for some reason, I had an idea for something else... It's sort of long, though.
