Albatrossmoon . He / Him . SeaClan Warrior Midnight, SeaClan waters near the Sunken Slopes . . . ------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was late, Albie knew, but he'd left camp anyway. No one would really miss him; Aba was sleeping. It was freezing cold that night, leafbare chilling the air even more at night without the sun beating down on the ground. Al headed out with the moon and stars shining on his pelt, his pawsteps near silent and his tail swishing softly back and forth. It was dark, but not too much so. Celestial lights twinkled down to make sure that he could still find his way over the sand, not that he couldn't find his own way without the light anyway. He headed for the water, as all Seacats do, padding over the shifting, grainy earth. When he reached the water, he dove in, the bitter taste of salt hitting his tongue before he could close his mouth. He hated the taste of salt in his face, but it was a constant in the water, and he loved to swim so he tolerated the taste. Al drifted off through the water, partially just letting the current take him wherever it liked. And today, it seemed, it liked the jagged rocks just beyond the shallower waters. In the deeper water that Albie rarely ventured out into, big rocks jutted up into the water. He would have passed them up if not for a small flash of white that caught his eye. The ever-curious soul swam out of the current he had swam in, pausing to take a closer look. He narrowed his big eyes at the peaks. . . . Something was caught on one of the lower spikes of one of the outer peaks. The young warrior couldn't get a good look on it from where he floated, but it was quite different from anything he'd ever seen from what he could tell. Albie gave his surrounding a quick, nervous glance before swishing his tail through the water and paddling down to the rocks. As he got closer, the object caught on the rocks became clearer. It was a cloak! Well- not exactly. It was similar to what he'd seem Abalonestar with before, but also quite different. He reached out, paws sinking into the soft, furry material. He let out a little gasp, eyes glittering softly. Feelings exploded into him at the fluffy, gentle touch of the blanket. He tugged it off of the rocks and the soft material fell into his paws. If he hadn't already been perched on a bit of rock, he would have melted down to the ground. It was wonderous. The material, a bit like Aba's cloaks, was cool to the touch and made his paws tingle happily at the soft sensation. Upon further inspection, it was a bit odd. Both sides were made of short, soft fluff similar to the short seagrass that coated the ground in some areas. One side was a pale white color, and the other was gray. He was pretty sure it was some kind of blanket, but it had small pouches attached to the lighter, smoother side and a bit resembling a shark fin attached to the middle of the darker side. A small strip of the lighter color was also tucked into one of the pouches; Albatrossmoon discovered this when he tossed the blanket up and ducked under it, the material falling over his sides and his ears. He tugged it out and wrapped it around his neck with a gentle touch. He liked this thing, and if Aba could have a cloak, so could he! Maybe his father would like it! . . . Busy admiring his discovery, Albie didn't notice a shape growing closer at first. It swept by overhead, casting a shadow over Albie that he certainly noticed. Looking up, he saw a shark. It didn't bother him, but it swam by close enough that if it had wanted, it could have snapped him in two with a bite. The creature startled the warrior, but he stilled, watching it with bright, amazed eyes. It swam around the rock, and Albie pushed off from it, getting away as quickly and quietly as he could. Al didn't know much about sharks, he'd never seen one properly and especially not from that close-up before, but he did know that they weren't to be messed with too much. He swam slowly back to the current he'd come there on, casting several glances back at the rock, but the shark had gone on, and he couldn't see it anymore. He wouldn't be getting another look at it, as much as he really did kind of want to see it again. He gave the rocks a last sidelong glance before he turned to paddle back to shore before the sun came up, though he didn't really know how long he'd been gone. What an interesting night. It felt almost slightly like a dream. . . . Albie woke up the next day to snow and the warm midday sun leaking into the warriors' den. Along with the wonderful feeling of his blanket thrown haphazardly over himself. He curled up in the fluff, a grin leaking onto his face. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's not the best srp, but I'm not really the greatest at making srps. Albie now owns a magic shark-themed blanket/hoodie that will never ever get wet. Yay! He also now has an interest in sharks.
