A few hours ago, Cody took off in the Sam painted P-36C that he donated for the museum. the plane suffered a heavy bird strike, ripping part of the wing off, cutting the rudder cable, and killing the engine. with great skill, he was able to limp the plane to the Sally Ride Wilderness park near the museum before the aircraft stalled and crashed into the forest. the ambulance was quickly called, and the condition of Cody Matias is unknown as of now because he was found unconscious but breathing in the cockpit.
