I have two rules for myself, use the full banana, and all three parts of one banana must be different colours ( innermost and outermost can be the same ) these have both been broken once, for The Iron Giant, his mouth is only the innermost part, for Jevil, his cloak thing is one solid colour. Apart from these two examples, I have followed both rules in every project
@BNNYGRL for the bananaified image bananas are my second favorite food, I would do this with my favorite. But scratch doesn't have a "raw onion" sprite, does it? this tutorial sucks, but it's better than it used to be.
