Blue ball mines ores for XP. You can get a better pick when you get enough xp. Click the xp bar to upgrade your pickaxe. The darker the block the less health is has. Certain things uses your inventory items. Extra XP will convert to xp for your next pick Primaries have different purposes than secondaries, primaries targets ore, and secondaries will target regular blocks more.
