1985-1991 - Press space to change vehicle color use buttons to navigate trims - In 1984, A little sports car called the River Dorifuta released, taking over the sports car market. Celine, upset by their reputation for slow, unreliable, outdated roadsters, decided to give their aging SE3 an extensive remake. It sat on an all new chassis, and a new line of Inline 4 Engines, ranging anywhere from the GX's 98BHP to the Touring Homoligation's 380BHP. While the new project, codenamed "Project Comeback" was being developed, another competitor, the Midori FX-GT launched, bringing even more debate onto the topic of a new SE3. In November of 1985, The Celine SE3 MKII broke cover at the 1985 Lombard RAC Rally as a safety car, and public interest for the Japanese coupes drifted away for a few weeks, while public eyes were taking in how Celine could revamp a dying, outdated model. Comparisons were made immediatlly to the FX-GT and Dorifuta, and performance tests between the 3 were made. In 1987, the SE3 entered Touring Car races, followed by a homoligation model, limited to 200 units. The SE3 never really dominated racing, however it did win the 1989 championship, making its mark. The vast trim lineup allowed many people to enter the SE3 Ecosystem. Eventually, in 1991, the SE3 was discontinued, with no real successor. Today, they are all either in junkyards, or being wrapped around trees by new drivers. Prices (Used) (2026) (USD) $500 - $18,000
