Ankar and Kaya (Splatoon OCs)

I really need to work on my drawing skills and not just use character customizers… Picrew images are more accurate images of the OCs listed here. Go through images by using space key or tapping the project. These are my two Splatoon OCs, Ankar and Kaya. They are both 16, with Ankar being a few months older. Ankar is often laid back and relaxed, though he overworks himself at Grizzco, and thus barely gets any sleep. He’s chill and laidback, but also somewhat depressed and apathetic. He’s patient with others and will try his best to deescalate bad situations, though he may also get a bit reckless. He uses an aggressive, melee playstyle with that often involves brushes and shooters. He’s a great fighter head on, but his spacial awareness and strategy game is terrible and he’s likely to lose if you’re sneaky enough to deceive him. He also uses up a lot of ink with his weapons and abilities. His haircut is a combination between Bedhead and Hipster, and he doesn’t really take that much care for his body or his apartment. Is good friends with Kaya. He’s somehow extremely talented in Tableturf battle. High ranked Salmon Run worker. Has a small knitting hobby. Btw, for the lower half of his body he wears slightly torn black pants and rugged brown boots. Kaya is the more serious and cautious of the two. She’s a bit nerdy and while she’s nice, she can get a little uptight and is easily annoyed. Can be kind of scary at times. Naturally intelligent and very curious and eccentric. Farsighted vision and needs glasses for reading. Her main hobby is Tableturf battle, though she often loses to Ankar, much to her frustration. She does usually have him beat in Turf and Ranked Battle though, using a more defensive, ranged playstyle with snipers and brellas. She’s extremely sneaky and would have you splatted before you even know it, but she lacks a good offensive pressure. She may also panic if ever cornered or put in a bad situation. Has a deathly fear of salmonoids. Her hairstyle is the Octolocks. Loves puzzles and mystery video games. Studying to become a scientist. For the lower half of her body she wears gray pants and bluish-black shoes. Ankar and Kaya met when Ankar took a small break from Grizzco and tried out Tableturf Battle. He instantly climbed up through the ranks and absolutely humbled Kaya when he matched against her. Ankar’s mother and father were neglectful parents. His mother gambled on major ranked battles and Splatfests, spending more time at placing bets on the battles than spending them with her child. Ankar’s father was better and cared for him at first, but ended up keeping to himself and ignoring Ankar’s needs after receiving crippling injuries from a brutal Big Run. As a result of their problems, the family had acquired a frighteningly large debt. They then proceeded and offload their problems onto Ankar, with his mother blaming him for their misfortune before leaving him to live on his own in Splatsville at age 14. Since then the inkling had struggled to pay off his family’s debts, turning to Grizzco Company to gain money. The actions of his parents have made him goalless and without any real motivation or hope. Kaya’s fear from salmonoids stems from a traumatic Big Run event during her childhood. A group of salmonoids had managed to break into an undefended area of Splatsville, managing to destroy the Respawn Anchors set in the area before causing a rampage. Her parents managed to hide her away before the salmons broke in, killing her parents right in front of her. Fortunately, a squad of Grizzco workers had managed to clean up the rest of the area before further damage could happen and restarted the Respawn Anchors, but by then Kaya’s parents were long gone, unable to respawn. The octoling was sent to live with her closest living relative, her aunt. Kaya’s aunt helped her move past most of her trauma, but she’s still struggling to move on from it. Kaya is Agent 18, while Ankar is Agent 19. They are both very new agents in the New Squidbeak Splatoon. Kaya’s playing cards had fallen into the vent connecting the Squidbeak Splatoon, and when the two went to collect the lost cards they accidentally entered right into the headquarters. Much to their confusion, they were then praised for their skill into finding the place and were awarded as Agents for their accomplishments. The duo ended up playing along, pretending that they found the place intentionally as Ankar needed the money they offered and Kaya wanted to learn more about the area. Both are unaware of Grizzco company’s true nature, and Ankar still participates in Salmon Run. Neither of them get along with New Agent 3, mainly due to their Smallfry Companion. They are both also a bit inexperienced as agents due to being so new, neither knowing how to turn off the special limit.
