Chapter 2 As the sun rose and dawn was approaching, the guards, Micheal and Ruby, headed to the kitchens to pick up breakfast for the prisoners. Unfortunately, they walked right by the empty cell (the one that’s not supposed to be empty). “Hey Ruby, where’s Justice?” Micheal questioned. “In her cell, just like always. Where else would she be?” Ruby replied. “The thing is, Ruby, she’s not in her cell.” “WHAT?” Ruby screamed. “Now you get it.” Micheal said, sarcasm shrouding his voice like a cloak. They ran all over the island, trying to find Justice. Finally they made it outside. There, floating in the calm waters, was a handmade raft. Empty. “She must have used this to try to escape.” Ruby thought aloud. “Well, we need to find her.” They sent helicopters to search the ocean from the sky, and sent Alcatraz Police Boats out to search on the water. When night fell, they hauled out the spotlight to go over the water, since the boats and helicopters had both found nothing. After an hour of seeing nothing but smooth, clear water, they had all but given up hope. But then, the spotlight found something. Chapter 3 About a mile out from shore, the waves started to get a little rough. My magic doesn’t work unless I’m on land, so I had to just hold on for dear life. That didn’t do me much good, though. The raft flipped over, and it took me with it. I plunged into the freezing water. My life flashing before my eyes, I swam up to the surface, gulping down air. One of my oars was in reach, so I grabbed it and held on tight. Kicking hard, I started to swim to land, though I couldn’t see it quite yet. I had gotten some good momentum and gone pretty far, when suddenly the water lit up. Glancing toward the sky, I saw it. The dreaded spotlight. Every single escape story ended with the spotlight. They get caught, are either killed or sentenced to a life spent in prison, and are never seen again by the outside world. Would this be the end of my tale? No. I won’t let that happen. I plan to have the next famous success story. There was the whirr of a boat’s motor. I heard someone shout, “There she is!” “Murder her!” Then I heard another shout of “Just take her captive!” That was Micheal’s voice! But wait. Why would he want to keep me alive? There was something fishy going on, and it wasn’t the water. The boat was next to me now. There was no point in kicking harder, they would catch me anyway. The only other idea was to jump off the back. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. But there was no better way to continue the journey back to California (my home), so I guess it will have to do. I heard a thump as a tangled net of ropes was tossed on top of me. Some sort of metal claw picked me up. I tried to struggle out, but its grasp was much too strong. Then it lowered me into the boat and let go of me. Just as soon as I was out of its grasp, though, I was held in the fists of the head Alcatraz Island police officer. From there, I was handed to Micheal, with the words, “Take her away.” He brought me to the back of the boat. Jackpot! I can definitely dive off the back from here! Micheal dumped me in a wooden box. “Don’t go anywhere.” He warned. Well, all the more reason to do it, then! It’ll make my story that much better. Micheal headed back to the front of the boat, and as the motor revved up again and they began to turn the boat around, I took my chance. I hopped out of the crate and, taking a huge gulp of air, dived down into the swirling waters. Once I couldn’t hear the whirr of the boat chopping through the water, I came up for air, my lungs practically bursting. Now, how do I get out of this net? I felt around in my pockets. Perfect! My trusty pocket knife. I sliced through the ropes and slipped out of the net. Closing the pocket knife, I slipped it back into my pocket and began to swim. I’d be in California by morning.
I just wrote this on Google docs. Yes, there is more, just I'm not posting it all at once.
