Somewhere around November, I was just minding my business, rushing to get to my next class.. and (what seemed to look like a freshman) dude walk past me and say “MY FRIEND OVER HERE LIKES YOU!1!1!” Out loud. I didn’t pay much attention to him because, 1. It’s a freshie.. 2. Ugly to me anyways, 3. Heard the phrase way too many times in school related movies/shows, gacha stories, etc to know he’s not legit LMAO I haven’t been hit with the phrase too often. Only other encounter I can think of, besides Freshie, is another guy way back in Freshmen Year. He asked me for my snapchat while I was eating. Idk how fr he was being, but I just left him hanging. (Uhm sorry ig if you were actually being serious, you weren’t my type anyways x/) Shoving all of my experiences aside, I don’t get this “joke” at all. Like.. what am I supposed to laugh at?? The fact that you could potentially hurt someone’s feelings by giving them false hope that someone out there loves them romantically? That’s not funny at all broski T_T’ IT MAKES NO SENSE AGHHHH </3 Part of me is glad I can immediately sense that they’re “joking”, but it’s irritating to hear that stupid phrase still being tossed around. It’s 2026 gang
