Chapter 6 - Cabin Fever Labs, and Cyn’s plan. (Previous Chapter: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1219263374/ ) (TIMESKIP: NEXT DAY) Callie woke up, slightly annoyed. She needed oil. However, she didn’t want to get any at the moment. She was going to head to Cabin Fever Labs with Nori and Uzi. N wanted to come too, considering Uzi had told him everything, with Callie’s permission, of course. Callie liked N, he was nice. She didn’t really want N to come, but he’d be safety for them, considering her and Uzi were only Workers. Yes, they both had the Solver, but Nori had said not to use it, due to the risks. Callie got up and grabbed her notebook, and her small pocket knife. It was a gift from her mom, before she died. Callie couldn’t remember much about her parents, other than a few flashbacks. She guessed that’s why she didn’t recognize her mom’s handwriting, at first. She walked out of the room, putting the knife in her sweatshirt pocket. She walked over to Uzi’s door, which opened as she approached. Inside were Uzi, Nori, and surprisingly, N. “Oh, heya, Callie! You ready?” “Oh, hi, N…yeah, I’m ready. Nori, what’s the plan?” “Hmm? Oh, didn’t see you there, Callie. Here.” Nori tossed Callie something. She caught it, examining it. It was an ID card. It had a picture of a drone that looked similar to Callie, with the words, “Rose #009” under it. “…This was Mom’s.” “Yes. I found it not long ago, and decided to keep it, to give to you. Plus, it’ll make our journey a little easier. I believe we need the keycards to access some doors.” Nori held up her own ID card. “And the plan is to access the main computer.” “Hang on, didn’t Tessa-“ “Cyn.” “Didn’t Cyn destroy the computer?” N asked, confused. “…Shoot. I forgot about that. I believe there’s a backup computer though. I just don’t know where it is.” “…You don’t?!” “…I have a lead, but I need to discuss it separately, considering Cyn hasn’t been active all morning.” “…She hasn’t? That’s strange.” Callie commented. “Very. I believe she’s planning something.” “Should I bring the Crucifix?” “…” Nori simply nodded in response, glancing at Uzi’s tail. It was purple, signaling Cyn wasn’t there. Or at least, it seemed she wasn’t there. Cyn was actually listening to every word, scheming. However, none of the four knew that. [POV: Cyn.] Cyn watched Callie walk out of the room and then come back a minute later with the makeshift Crucifix Patch. Perfect. The gullible idiots didn’t realize anything. Now all Cyn had to do was wait… [POV: Callie] Callie walked out of the room, and quickly went to her room and grabbed the Patch. “Are we ready?” She asked. “I believe so. I just need to tell you three the…possible location of the backup computer.” Nori replied, glancing at Uzi’s tail again, which was still purple. “Well, where is it…?” “Honestly, I’ll just lead you three to it. I don’t like the fact that Cyn hasn’t caused trouble yet. Pretty much confirms my suspicions.” “Giggle. Does it now? I’m surprised, Nori. Just because I’ve been silent doesn’t mean anything. Maybe I’m not planning anything at all.” Said Cyn’s voice, however, Uzi’s tail hadn’t turned yellow, meaning that Cyn couldn’t have spoken from there. It was confusing the four. “C-Cyn?” N asked quietly, receiving no response. Nori looked concerned. “I knew it. We need to go. Come on.” Nori quickly walked out of the room, the other three following. “Nori?” “One second.” Nori had her Solver out, looking slightly tense. Then she found it. Up in the corner was a Solver camera. It was yellow, but upon being spotted by Nori, quickly turned off. “Gotcha, Cyn.” “How’d she even have one here? She never entered here while alive.” “I think she managed to do it while you were sleeping, Uzi.” “What?! I knew I kept hearing things!” Uzi muttered angrily, surprised. “Proves my point. Either way, we need to get going. I’ll deal with Cyn’s camera later.” Nori walked off, reaching the door to outside the base quickly. “Uzi. Where’s the keycard.” “Callie borrowed it.” “Oh, uh, here, Nori. I meant to give it back, Uzi…” Callie handed Nori the keycard, as she used her Solver to use the keycard to open the door. The door opened with a loud swoosh. “Quickly, I don’t want Khan to…oh brother. Go, go!” Nori, Uzi, and Callie quickly ran outside, as Khan had walked in, looking confused. Nori quickly closed the door behind the three before Khan could say anything. “That was close.” “I sure didn’t want another door lecture.” “We need to go, both of you. N? I believe you know the way?” “I do!” “Great. You can go ahead.” N nodded and flew off, leaving Nori and the two Workers behind. “Nori, how are we going to get there if you won’t let us use the Solver?” “I’m only letting you use the Solver this one time. Understood?” “Ugh, fine.” “Wait, Nori, I can’t necessarily change into my Solver form at will like Uzi can.” “…You’ll have to walk then. Have you had oil yet?” “…No.” “Do you have oil on you?” “No.” “…Uzi, give her one of yours.” “Ugh, bite me!” (+)
“Uzi. Give it to her.” “Ughhhhhhhh. Bite me.” Uzi handed over the oil. Callie started drinking it, her visor turning into a thankful [^-^]. “Thanks, Uzi.” “When we go out hunting next, you’re finding most of them.” Uzi replies. “Deal.” Callie replied, as N asked, “Wait, can I get V so we can make sure none of you have to walk?” “…I guess so.” Nori replied. “Great! I’ll go get her!” N flew off towards the spire. Callie watched N fly off, Uzi’s tail suddenly glitching and going completely lifeless right as Callie’s visor flickered, displaying the Solver symbol across the whole visor for a moment before disappearing back into Callie’s regular teal eyes. Nobody noticed the glitch, as Callie was facing the spire, the others facing the other way. Uzi’s tail regained its yellow light, the tail shifting subtly to look towards Callie. [To be continued in part two] End of chapter! Alright I’m glad I locked in and got this out!
