With the advent of Kadyrov's counter insurgency, the territories to the east of the Volga River have declared independence as the East Volga Republic. This infant state was born seldom of unity, but rather to ensure that Kadyrov was no longer in de jure control of the entirety of the VSSR, and so the east could thus seek international aid. Within the East are two factions, the Democrats and the Absolutists. They flirt with a tentative alliance, pressed together only by the pressure of Kadyrov's regime across the river. The most powerful overall faction are Kadyrov's nationalists, who retain the majority of the VSSR's military and civilian infrastructure, followed by the Absolutists and then the Democrats. The Nationalist desire absorption into the FSSR. The Democrats are split between a desire for absorbtion into Vespacia, and alignment with it. This fault line has no effect on the ground. The Absolutists desire the creation of an independant VSSR that is a 3rd great power in the world.
