Diptera is finished!!! Hope u like! He looks so spooky I suck at backgrounds and Kleki doesn't give me a lot of options so I tried my best heh. PS: I looked up "diptera" and it turns out it's an order that includes flies... PSS: While making the clear cloak thingy all my Minecraft ah brain could think of was elytra ToT
Art by me on Kleki Design by -Embrac3_ Music: "Runaway" by AURORA Backstory: Diptera was once an ordinary housecat, blissfully unaware of the dangers that lurked in the forest bordering his house. His fur was a rich brown color with black paws. Although he occasionaly wondered what it was like beyond his walls, he had two people who cared for him, and so he was content to spend his days getting his fur stroked and lying in beams of sunlight. Diptera had a name that the humans had given him, which was Owl. Diptera happily lived with his humans as an indoor cat for 5 years. However, voles started to infest his owners' garden that they cherished for growing heirloom vegetables. They then realized the perfect solution: for Diptera to keep the vole population in check. They were worried that Diptera would run away, but after a few trial runs and buying a color with Diptera's name, (which was still Owl at this point) they let him loose in the garden. For a few weeks, he hunted voles in the garden while using the installed cat door to go inside the house. It wasn't too long until Diptera also began trying to hunt inhabitants of the forest like birds and rabbits. One day, Diptera was stalking a very spry rabbit when the rabbit spotted him and darted into the forest. Diptera's instincts took over and he ran after the rabbit. While chasing the rabbit through the underbrush, a branch snagged on Diptera's collar and ripped it off. After Diptera finally caught the rabbit, he crouched on the forest floor to eat it. After eating his fill, he started to wander back towards the house. He crawled up a tree to scope his surroundings, which turned out to be a major mistake. The branch of the tree he clambered onto was covered with moss that usually infected small insects like flies. The mammals and birds of the forest were immune to the moss, but Diptera had never been exposed to it because he was a domestic cat. The moss crawled up his body and enveloped him, and Diptera could now feel things sprouting out of his head and back. When the moss fell off, Diptera was way different. His legs were black that faded into green, and his neck fur and tail had turned into moss. Spiked jutted from his back, and antenna protruded from his head. His eyes had turned red and pupil-less, much like insect eyes, and his face had green stripes on it. As a finishing touch, a wing-like cloak adorned his back. Diptera's mind was also overrun by the moss. He was renamed Diptera, after the flies the moss usually infected. He no longer wanted to go back to his family. His primary goal... was to infect others.
