Originally shared May 21, 2025. Note: There’s not much in this game that’s clickable because adding too much stuff could make the game too big, too complex, or laggy. However, I may add more clickable stuff someday. Please go down to the “Controls” section below to learn to play! Credits: -The joke drum sound was made by @Danny72344. -The SpongeBob characters and jellyfish sprites were designed by @SquidwardTentacools. -The backdrops are from Google Images. The music is derived from various SpongeBob music projects I’ve found here on Scratch (a full list of the songs used can be seen below). -The rest is by me! About This Game: This is a game where you, as SpongeBob, can walk around Bikini Bottom! You can try to catch jellyfish in Jellyfish Fields as well as interact with people and places all around Bikini Bottom! The game features 11 different places to travel to, including 2 special bonus locations! And if you don’t understand the controls, there’s a tutorial in the project where you can get a taste of what the gameplay is like. Controls: -The game will start by asking you if you’re playing on a mobile or desktop device. Mobile devices are things like phones and tablets, while desktops are what most of us think of as computers, such as laptops, PCs, Macs, etc. Please select “Mobile” if you’re playing on mobile and “Desktop” if you’re playing on desktop, as it affects the controls of the game. -Once you press “Start Game” in the title screen, you can use the arrow keys (if you’re on a desktop) or the pink arrow buttons (if you’re on mobile) to move SpongeBob around. You can walk up to characters and interact with them or click/tap on homes and buildings you see around Bikini Bottom (e.g. SpongeBob’s pineapple or the Krusty Krab) to see what they do, whether they play music or simply just make SpongeBob talk about them. (When talking to people, you have to be a specific distance close to them before they’ll talk to you, so just walk up close to them and try clicking/tapping them. It encourages closeness and bonding!) Just click/tap around and see what cool things you discover! If you don't want to watch one of the cutscenes that happen when you interact with something, just press the Skip button on the top right corner of the screen. -The Fast Travel button allows you to fast travel anywhere around Bikini Bottom. Simply press the button and enter the number next to the name of the location you want to travel to. For example, if you wanted to fast travel to Sandy’s treedome, you press the “Fast Travel” button and type “2” in the text box, which is the number next to the name “Sandy’s Treedome.” This is designed to make gameplay a little more convenient, however if you prefer exploring on foot, go ahead. This button is also only available when a cutscene isn't going, you need to skip cutscenes or wait for them to end before fast travelling. -There is in an in-game tutorial that lets you try put some of these features before playing the game. You can try it if you want to, but you don’t have to. -Bonus Tip: If SpongeBob awkwardly stops mid-walk when you're playing on desktop, simply click him to get him back to a normal pose. This doesn't affect your gameplay, but it does look a little strange, and I haven't found a way to fix it yet. And that's all! Here's a list of all the music used in this project: -Kamp Koral Theme Song (Instrumental) (used in the Title Screen) -SpongeBob SquarePants Theme Song (used when you click or tap SpongeBob's house) -The Patrick Star Show Theme Song (used when you click or tap Patrick's old house from The Patrick Star Show) -Kamp Koral Theme Song (used when you click or tap Kamp Koral)
