Controls: WASD to move, SPACE to dash (you have limited, slow regenerating energy that this uses), J to swing your sword, I to open/close detailed stats, and K to interact (You can interact with most things that don't attack you) or skip through text (you can also click to skip text). How the Game Works: You will go through a dungeon with a random order of rooms. You start with 5 max health and 6 max energy, but you can get more. Going through a door will bring you to a new room, and the doors will be locked until all enemies are defeated. IMPORTANT: The door that you explored from will not be unlocked, so you cannot backtrack. There will be three enemy types in this dungeon. Goblins, hounds, and rodents. Every 7 rooms there will be a BOSS! It can either be a tree, an orc, or a hound nest. When you beat a boss, it will be stronger the next time you fight one. Enemies: A Spirit Goblin is an enemy that will run up to you, try to punch you, stall, and rinse and repeat. Hitting it two times will defeat it. They come in packs of three. A Bounded Hound is an enemy that will rest for a bit, then charge at you with a lot of speed, then rinse and repeat. They are invincible while charging, and will be defeated after 3 hits. Bounded Hounds come in packs of two. A Rogue Rodent is an enemy that will continuously charge across the screen at a fast pace, throw an acorn, appear from a different side, and rinse and repeat. Only the acorns can hurt you, and the Rodent will be defeated in 1 hit. They come one by one. P.S. All attacks deal one damage. NPCs: Occasionally, someone friendly will appear. Klubious takes form of a ghost. He will wait in the center until you interact with him. He will then talk to you, and let you choose between 2 bonuses. There are 4 types of bonuses he can give you currently, and you can only take one per room. The lifesteal bar is one of these and it will simply charge every time you defeat an enemy. Once it gets to full percentage you get +1 health. The Gifter is a man in the ground, who sells lanterns, torches, and a new sword to you. The Gifter's Items: The Lantern of Soul is an item that costs $60 and will, well, give you a lantern. You can press 1 on the keyboard to use a lantern. Using a lantern will give you +2 Health per lantern. The Torch of Energy will is an item that costs $30 and will, well, give you a torch. You can press 2 on the keyboard to use a torch. Using a torch will give you +3 stamina per torch. The Blade of the Masters is an item that costs $350 and will well *sigh* give you the blade of masters. This blade is much bigger than the one you start with, giving you extra range, and it attacks much faster, along with more damage. Armor is an item that will yet again give you armor. Armor basically acts as a multiplier. The base max HP gets multiplied by the amount of armor you have. BOSSES: There are three bosses possible to encounter. The Root is a cursed tree that will stand still, and pull in sharp leaves towards the player. That's it. The Orc is basically a really big version of the Spirit Goblin. It does attack faster and have more range, though. The Round of Hounds is an encounter where you find a nest full of bounded hounds. Defeat them until the nest explodes. Other Features: You get money by defeating enemies. Each room usually adds up to 30 coins, however the boss room gives you 60. Energy regenerates 1 every ~2 seconds, so use it sparingly. Variants: There is a chance for a room to have spikes or to be flooded. The spikes take place as a trap on the ground. Stepping on it will give you one second to get off before it opens. It doesn't activate off of enemies, and doesn't hurt enemies. Flooded rooms have a bunch of water in the center. Being in the water will drain your energy and eventually make you take damage if you run out. Modifiers: When you start, and after each boss you defeat, you will get to choose between 3 modifiers. You will know what these modifiers do, as they say it. You can only have one modifier at a time and the modifiers effect bosses.
REALLY IMPORTANT: I accidentally added the camera modifier, and it shall ask for your camera. Say no. It won't actually show your camera, but it was an accident. Be aware, this game is pretty tough. Make sure to read instructions. NEW UPDATE!! I added a new shop/NPC that you can find in one of the rooms, she gives you jewelry! There is also new NPC dialogue, I changed the difficulty scaling, and overhauled the stats that appear on screen! There are also some cool new modifiers! If I forgot to mention something in the instructions, sorry, please tell me! Also no, don't say I didn't describe it enough. If you want to know every detail, just look inside the project. This project was inspired by, well another two projects of mine. "Nomads' Defense" and "Never-Ending Roguelite". I didn't use anyones else's code other than kind of mine, not on purpose at least.
