He’s generally seen as happy and lively; it’s very rare that you would see him not smiling. His way of telling you that you’re a close friend of his includes more physical interaction (ie, pushing, shoving, ruffling hair, etc; these are all done with playful and friendly connotations :)) or playful / lighthearted teasing. This is most prominently seen between Ryo and his twin brother, Ken. Ryo’s usually seen with a pack of friends, going candle-running, yapping, or just goofing off. One of the greatest joys in his life is seeing the smiles of his buddies and hearing their laughter; that said, he’s usually the life of the party. He’s not too concerned about making a few sacrifices (whether it be time, his own dignity, etc.) here and then to get his friends laughing. Unfortunately, because of this desire, it can lead to burnout. Ryo is absolutely atrocious at processing his emotions, and if something upsets or bothers him, his first reaction is to simply laugh it off and ignore it. Every now and then he gets in his head that he always has to be the spirited and animated one, which can cause him to start expending energy that he doesn’t have. Ryo sometimes gets himself stuck in this loop, which is when pent-up frustration and the like start boiling over. (( This is still under development, i have no idea if I’m going to go through with it, but perhaps Ryo’s outgoing personality and silly energy are a coping mechanism? Whether or not he realizes it, he craves validation. He finds that validation by making his friends happy, but his methods don’t always agree with everyone — his father in particular. Ryo’s father Ares is a strict believer in order, rules, and upholding honor / pride. Because Ares’s and Ryo’s personalities contradict so much, this puts them on very sour terms; Ares gives very little validation to his son, so in turn, Ryo has to find it elsewhere. In surrounding himself with people who enjoy his presence, he can ease any anxieties about his self-worth.
