vampire ; a short story [edited nd reshared] _____________________ I still remember the first time I met you. You were beautiful, so beautiful it was unnatural. Your skin was as pale as the silent moonlight, slim fingers and slender limbs. It seemed like you were born from the pure December snow itself, so white, whiter, whitest. Your raven-black hair was messed up artfully, falling in soft waves around your sharp cheekbones, the midnight shadows creeping up your expressive features. I still vividly remember your captivating, hypnotizing red eyes lured me into your mystery. To me then, those stunning eyes were the lullaby I needed to soothe my pain, the heart's pain. I still vividly remember your voice, the lushness of mountain ferns on a windy day, the sweetness of honey on my fingers, the entrance of the touch of velvet against bare skin. I still remember your smile, so alluring, so gentle as you gazed at me as if I was the crescent moon in the black night sky, as if I was the only one that had ever mattered to you, that made my heart skip a beat countless times before. I remember you. I remember you. I still vividly remember you. The person who healed my shattered heart, just to break it all over again. I'm too fragile, too delicate, like a glass porcelain doll, aren't I? That's what I thought at first. Your words were an invitation to join you, and blinded by the hurt I felt then, I, of course, accepted without thinking. It just felt so right, you and I under the stars. I was so young back then. I didn't know how naive I was. I've always heard whispers, from other women as they surround me with pleading eyes, "Stay away from him," they say, "He will just completely, utterly destroy you. He will drink your corrupted soul until there is nothing left but a body with no feeling." But I assumed they were jealous of the perfect man I had nestled in my arms. I assumed they were trying to lure me away from you, trying to break me apart from my loved one. I believed they were rubbish, were lies. How could I stay away from you, the comfort to my aching soul? How could I stay away from you, with your tender smiles that made me forget about everything, every single thing? I truly believed you were the prince who came to rescue me. I truly believed we would have a happy ending, like those in the fairy tales I've always dreamed about. Loving you was sweet and mesmerizing, but oh so paralyzing. You became part of me, a person I would and could never erase from my life. It was so blissful; our love, but so thrilling that they took my breath away, and only made me fall deeper into your delicately wove, wynorrific trap. The kisses in the dark corridors, the velvety confessions of love, the thought of being yours, the sight of people staring at me in envy as our hands intertwined. I was too caught up in all my emotions that I didn't realize what you were doing. Tying me to you. Making yourself a part of my soul. Poisoning it, through carefully crafted, emotionally delivered lies. When I realized your love, your feelings, our love, was a lie, it was too late. I was bound to you, forever, tied to you, stuck to you like the sticky blood on the floor. It reached the point where i couldn't live without you. You were a bloodsucker. you drank up my whole soul that i gave to you, unaware, using it to feed up your own dark soul. and my soul started slipping away, unnoticed, until now. I am a mere ghost of my former self. Those eyes, the ones I once thought was made of beauty itself, of Aphrodite herself, were actually swirling pools of Hell. Those colors, emotions I saw were actually soulless, obsession-fueled irises. Those loving words were always a lie, just another tool to kill me slowly, painfully inside. You bled me dry; you ravaged my spirit. You damaged me until I wasn't me anymore, completely blank inside. You damaged me, until my irises were filled with the same lifeless look you have. You crushed all my dreams, the ones floating innocently in the blue sky, the source to my happiness. I can no longer survive by myself. I am dependent on you, dying of unbearable pain immediately if I leave you even for a second. I don't want to, but I involuntarily call out your name, begging you to stay with me. I can't bear to look at my reflection. I am so hollow, both in body and spirit. Please go away, but stay with me. I can't think. You. You. You. You. I hate you, but I can't leave you. The old, antique clock on the shadowy wall is ticking. Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock. Now I realize. You weren't actually a person. You were too much, and too little. My heart, my soul, my spirit is shattered glass. I am nothing, invisible, thin air. Not even an empty memory passing by a forgotten mind. You devoured me, everything, every detail, every heartbeat, every drop of blood. You were a vampire.
