The term "mortals" generally refers to beings that are subject to death or have a finite lifespan. In many contexts, "mortals" are contrasted with immortal beings, such as gods or supernatural entities, who live forever. The concept is often used in literature, mythology, and religion to highlight the transitory nature of human life and the inevitability of death.
