More specifically from her dad’s side of the family though I guess it’s not impossible for her mom to also have it?? since Pennsylvania which Possum Springs was based on has a sizable chunk of Polish-American population but more evidence just points to Stan. Or at least going by the names, Stan sounds like a possible naturalization of Stanisław while Candy and Molly are kinda more out there (though obviously parents aren’t like. legally obligated to follow their country of origin’s naming convention while abroad. That’s just an observation). To add more, it’s a stretch but Anselm Borowski could’ve fought in the Anders’s Army and later been forced to emigrate. Kinda a stretch, but a similar thing happened in my family. Additionally Grandpa Borowski was invested in strikes and workers’ rights, which also fits a certain historical context.
