SUPER LAGGY. SPAM THE FLAG back to basics baby the current version of scratch is 3.0. i joined scratch (on @sylveon8089) when scratch was still in 2.0. recently i have been wanting to go back to 2.0 and make something, so i did by downloading scratch's offline 2.0 editor. i tried to make something i would have made in 2017. the translation in coding between the 2.0 editor and 3.0 editor is very janky, so it's very prone to lag. like very the song is did it first (instrumental) by ice spice notes while creating: - 3.0 really seems to patronize users. when i was 8 i was just fine being able to navigate the complex structure of 2.0, i don't see why 3.0 became so chunky and condescending. - 2.0 runs much quicker. i don't know why, but 3.0 slows down each movement. a "repeat 25" loop in 2.0 with a single code block within works at the same speed as a "repeat 10" loop in 3.0. - there is no "go to back" layering block. just found it interesting. - i SO miss vector's "smooth" feature in the drawing editor. - the feature that displays the audio is much more precise. - trying to use the "change color" blocks in the backdrop lags the entire project, even with nothing else running. - using shift + fill tool does not do anything, as opposed to 3.0. perhaps one of my two complaints about 2.0. ctrl + z works just fine, however. - i miss the 2.0 text. - 2.0 does not let you perfectly center text or an illustration. my second of two complaints - scrolling up or down with the mouse wheel does nothing in illustration editor. it must be manually done - there is no number to which you can change the brush size, it's just eyeballed - this may be due to the fact that i am using the offline editor, but the mouse moves faster (reduced lag) - i was worried that the 2.0 file would not convert to 3.0 but i was pleasantly surprised that it was able to convert and run semicoherently (i had to edit one timing block)
