flag ♡ [ edit: curated?! tysm!! also if you're here and have no context, this is an animatic based off of Grian and Scar's 3rd Life and Double Life, I'd highly recommend checking it out on yt if you enjoy! ] [ warning! this project contains the following: - character death (no gore tho *hides under a blanket from the st* /j) - violins! - spoilers for 3rd and Double Life ] after a stupidly large amount of effort (and also time) for the quality of thing, I present to you... my very first animatic! because when your hyperfixation makes you do something, you can't not do it. So yeah! Enjoy! Now I must ramble :) story behind this: So I started watching the life series and now have a hyperfixation on it (I blame @Sunstream- /jjjjj), and on these two in particular. I was also listening to The Postal Service's album Give Up (really recommend it) and I really wanted to make one of those songs into an animatic. My original plan was to make a Such Great Heights one but I had more ideas for this song so process: s o basically how I did this was definitely not the best way to do it but (95% in Bitmap) I made sketches of all the frames and coded as I went along, then went through with lineart, coloring, and then what passes for rendering for my Bitmap art. I then made the last panel in Kleki. After all that, I did the bgs in Kleki and used variables to code them. that coding was a pain but I managed it in the end. Artist's Notes: I don't really like how it turned out, 50% of the frames look at least a little off, 30% of them look okay and I only really like 20% of them so but I am proud of it from the perspective of it being my first animatic, and for how long I took on it. (2-3 weeks?) I am also impressed with myself that I managed to fully color it, shade it, AND make backgrounds for it so (also how long it is ;-;) Sorry for: -all the wonky frames -potentially reversing the cake? ;-; -the animated bits -my stupid rambling -being too hard on myself :/ Credits: Art/animation: Me!!!
